Read their complete bio, verified email/identity, and at least 2 authentic positive references from other hosts.

Agreed on expected check-in time window, daily work schedule, key handover, and final departure date.

Guest explicitly understands the setup (private room vs sofa vs living room mattress) and respects closed doors.

Clarified shoe policy, smoking / vaping restrictions, pet allergies, quiet hours after 10 PM, and kitchen cleanup.

A family member, flatmate, or close friend knows you are hosting, including the guest’s full name and origin.

Guest knows nearby metro/bus routes and does not expect you to accompany them 24/7 or act as full-time guide.

You are comfortable setting boundaries or asking the guest to leave if house rules are broken, and know local hostels.

Hosting volunteers does not violate your lease or local residential bylaws. No money ever changes hands.
